Cover image: Four canine breeds (clockwise from upper left): Collie, McNab, Silken Windhound, and English Shepherd. An allele of a multidrug resistance gene was known to segregate with two Executeg breeds from the collie lineage. Phylogenetic analysis of other Executeg breeds reveals that seven others share the same allele, including two breeds of sighthound that were not previously recognized as members of the collie family.
